Study tip: Revision timetable
|
|
Producing a revision timetable is great way of helping you plan your revision. It helps you to realise how much time you actually have between now and the exam. Use the following points to help in the production of your timetable.
- Write down all the dates and times of your exams
- Include things you can’t miss like school, family commitments and work. This should show you a more realistic time frame for revision i.e. although 4 weeks sounds like a long time, when you take into consideration all your prior commitments, your free time dwindles.
- Try to remember that revision is part of your course and not something extra.
- Plan each day with hour chunks of revision that include small 10 minute breaks between each section.
- Be sure to include time for things like relaxation, exercise and socialising.
- When planning your time, it is important to be REALISTIC. If you plan a schedule that is unrealistic there is no way that you will stick to it and the whole thing becomes a waste of time
- Remember that it is better to do a small amount each day than to cram everything into one day each week.
- Try and give each exam equal time for revision.
- Build in spare days into your revision timetable to allow for unexpected interruptions
- F inally, STICK TO YOUR TIMETABLE. But also remember that if something more important comes up during a revision period, you can always reschedule.
